Dyngus Day

Each year, Buffalonians of Polish heritage gather to celebrate the Dyngus Day holiday following Easter. Our organization chooses to celebrate our roots as the Polish Community Center of Buffalo with a call to action: “Do Good on Dyngus Day.”

From March 27 to April 10, we are hosting a fundraising campaign where we encourage supporters to make a donation and share their acts of good on social media with the hashtag #DoGoodOnDyngusDay. Proceeds from this effort will go to support our community programs, which provide essential services to residents of Buffalo’s East Side.

Welcome Package Project

In addition to monetary donations, we welcome our supporters to connect with their family, friends or coworkers to participate in a “Do Good On Dyngus Day” project. This year, we are seeking donations of “Welcome Packages” containing basic household items that we can provide to our permanent supportive housing clients who are exiting homelessness and moving into their own apartments. These baskets will help them feel welcome as they settle into their new homes.

To donate a Welcome Package, please contact Sarah Maurer at smaurer@urbanctr.org.

Doing Good By Cleaning Up Our Community

As part of our commitment to “Do Good On Dyngus Day,” we will be partnering with our neighbors at the Buffalo Central Terminal and the Central Terminal Neighborhood Association to clean up the neighborhood following the festivities on Saturday, April 15 from 10am to 1pm. Join us!
